An old world Indian charm remains evergreen in our wardrobe. We all love the new silhouettes and refreshing designs that Indian designers create at every Fashion Week, however, what still holds close to our heart are the traditional designs that speak close to Indian culture. This was the inspiration behind my recent collaboration with an Indian designer who is an epitome of luxury coutureAnju Modi. Over the years, her designs have pushed boundaries and excelled in luxury designs. Even though her designs spread like wild fire in a forest after recognition in movies like Goliyon ki Raasleela Ram-leela and Bajirao Mastani, she was already an essence of luxury couture in India from before.

Over the years, her collections have evolved with waist belts, capes and asymmetrical gowns, but the touch of her signature silhouette in intricate zardozi and prints still prevail in the collections and never fail to impress. I have always been in love with added flow & flare in garments that can make even a slight twirl look beautiful for brides and without any added weight, no one does that better in fabric than Anju Modi.

The collection that I shot with had a beautiful colour combination in shades of olives with blush pinks. Keeping the traditional yet simplistic vibe of the garments, I teamed it up with royal temple Jewelry from Vikas Chain and Jewellers. The heavy jewelry settled well with the pastel colour hues of Anju Modi’s collection finding the right balance between the two to complete the look. The look was created keeping in mind the old world charm with new aesthetics for the modern bride who portrays being intact with her Indian roots.

Celebridey Highlights:

· Anju Modi’s collection speaks a perfect blend of pastel hues with zardozi work

· Team it up with heavy jewelry or highlighted pieces for a ethnic yet modern look

· Anju Modi’s collection generally has a lot of flare which looks beautiful if you plan on performing a dance at the wedding or function

· Her recent collection has a refreshing blend of colour combinations
