Glitz and Glamour

Just as the title suggests, our cocktail was full of glitz and glamour. This marked the beginning of our wedding functions officially, and of course, as an Indian wedding, it had to include fun, dancing and lots of music. Our idea behind cocktail was to let our guests drop their hair and dance the night out to feel the vibe of the wedding. While décor spoke glitter in every direction, it truly was the last bling fling before the ring.

While fiancé looked sharp in an all blue sleek cut Hugo Boss suit with a waist coat and an oh-so-adoring golden mustache bow tie, I glammed up in a fitted all shimmery golden gown by Monisha Jaisingh. I decided to tie my hair in a low bun to accentuate the stunning neckline of the gown. I also sported a small train in my gown, which had a flaunting effect. I paired it up with a beautiful pair of Diamond Danglers with Ruby, a bracelet, Golden classic Jimmy Choo Lance Sandals and Shantanu & Nikhil clutch to finish the look.

The entire space was decorated with candles, white roses and lots of shimmering lights to give it a fantasy-like feel. We walked in to get the night started, which soon unblinkingly turned into rager as expected. While we danced the night away to tunes of the famous Bollywood rapper Badshah followed by DJ Sumit Sethi, we did burn the dance floor till 5am as much as I can recall or at least that was the time I went to bed. I was never a big fan of Punjabi music or rap, until I witnessed the crowd engaging performance of Badshah, that I was instantly hooked to his beats. A special mention to Binni (our bartender) who not only added a unique blend of cocktails to the menu but also surely knew his way into the crowd and made the crowd groove to every beat till the last person stood tall. He definitely added a highlight to the night.

One tip for all the brides: Do not stress about the amount of time you will get for sleep during your wedding celebrations. You don’t feel dizzy or lack sleep because of the excitement floating in the air. Just keep your chin up and continue to party and celebrate while you hop off the biggest milestones in your life.

Celebridey Highlights:

· Cocktail is always a good idea at a destination wedding that allows guests to mix up and get into the wedding vibe

· Forget your stress and just get into the wedding flow

· Do not wear Jimmy Choo’s post mehendi (I still have mehndi stains on my Choo’s)

· Ask your event manager to provide you with a shadow (a person who stay with the bride/groom throughout the celebrations) for all your functions. This way the shadow can help you with food, drinks, lipstick touch up, carrying your flat shoes for change and all your necessities

· Having a shadow at the functions was a definite boon for us

· Get your party a bartender who engages with the crowd
